Planning:Outfits

Welcome back bloggers,

Today I would like to share our actors wadrobe choices!

On set, one of the key things we wanted to focus on was making our characters feel authentic and relatable, starting with what they wear. Since Luna and Thomas are both high school students, we opted for casual, comfortable clothing that reflects typical teen style rather than anything flashy or over-the-top.

Luna’s outfit was simple yet practical: a cozy shirt paired with tights. It was perfect for her active, everyday high school life and allowed her to move naturally through the scenes. The tights added a subtle touch of style while keeping her look grounded and realistic, making her instantly relatable to our audience.

Thomas’s wardrobe followed the same vibe—casual, laid-back, and practical. His clothing reflected the typical teen who values comfort but still has a sense of personal style. We wanted viewers to immediately see Luna and Thomas as real students, walking the halls, navigating classrooms, and experiencing the small but important moments of school life.

By keeping their outfits simple and true to their characters, we helped ensure the focus remained on their personalities and interactions rather than their clothes. Small wardrobe choices like these go a long way in making characters feel alive and believable on screen.

Reflection
While designing the characters for our project, I realized just how important small details—like clothing—can be in storytelling. We deliberately chose everyday, realistic attire to show that our characters are typical high school students. Instead of using exaggerated or theatrical outfits, we opted for clothing that students would actually wear in real life. For example, the boy wears a simple shirt and shorts, while Luna is dressed in a basic top, leggings, and shoes. These choices help make the characters more believable and relatable to the audience. When viewers see clothing that feels familiar, they can better understand the characters and the story. Overall, paying attention to these small details enhanced the realism of our film and helped the audience connect with the characters on a deeper level.
