Production: Editing Day 3

Hey everyone! Today was our final day of editing for our film, and I’m excited to share everything we accomplished. As we wrap up our film opening, we’re all really excited to finally release our finished production!

Our main focus for today was creating text boxes, which turned out to be simple but very important to include. We used these text boxes to highlight key roles in our film, such as the actors (Noel and Melanie), the director (Maheen), and the producer (Antonella). Adding these details made our project feel much more complete and professional.

After finishing this part, we took a moment to look back at everything we’ve done, and it was honestly really satisfying. Seeing how far we’ve come made us realize just how much progress we’ve made throughout this process. What started as just raw footage has now turned into a polished film opening, and we’re really proud of the final result.

To create a stronger and scarier effect, we decided to place the title of our film right at the end of the third scene and make it appear in red. This small detail made a big difference in emphasizing the horror element of the story. It helped increase the emotional impact and set the exact mood we were aiming to create.

To improve the appearance of our text boxes, we used a fill tool so they would match the overall style and tone of the film. We also added a blurring effect called “Gaussian Blur.” We found this effect in the editing panel and applied it directly to the scene. This effect helped smooth the transition into the ending and made the opening feel more complete.

In order to make everything appear more consistent and natural, we spent time adjusting the lighting in several clips. This helped improve the overall look of the film and made the scenes blend together more smoothly. However, we did experience some internet issues, which slowed us down and made the editing process more challenging at times. Despite these setbacks, we were still able to accomplish a lot and make significant progress. We are now very close to completing our project, which is exciting for all of us.

Reflection

After reflecting on our editing process, we realized that Premiere Pro was more challenging to use than we initially expected. At the beginning, we weren’t very familiar with many of its features, so we spent time experimenting with different tools and functions to better understand how everything worked. As we continued practicing and learning, we gradually became more comfortable with the software and improved our editing skills. Although we faced some difficulties at first, those challenges helped us grow and become more confident in using the program. Overall, despite the initial struggles, we are very happy with how our video turned out. We are proud of the progress we made and everything we were able to accomplish throughout this project.
